Several years ago, a syndicated motorsports columnist in the Seattle Times managed to relocate Pikes Peak from Colorado to New Mexico. She blamed the map - makers, although she also misplaced the mountain in her article. She was also upset that I had the nerve to question her on this. I simply pointed out that as she was referring to the Unser family's ( from Albuquerque ) domination of the Pikes Peak hillclimb, she may have had New Mexico on her mind.
