An update on subway service disrupted by the Con Ed steam pipe explosion:

? No debri from the explosion was found in the tunnel. Power was restored to all tracks at 11:50.

? 4 line express service has been restored between 86th Street and Brooklyn Bridge, but sevice is bypassing Grand Central at 10 mph.

? 5 express service is running on it's normal route, between Nevins St in Brooklyn and the Bronx, but bypassing Grand Central at 10 mph.

? 6 local service has been restored between 59th/Lex Ave and Brooklyn Bride - City Hall but is bypassing Grand Central at 10mph.

? 42nd Street Shuttle s remains suspended.

? 7 service continues to bypassing Grand Central in Manhattan at 10 mph, but is running between Times Sq and Main Street.

There will be residual delays on the Lex. Ave line while we move equipment and crews back in place.

It is unclear how long service will bypassing Grand Central. Should this service plan remain in effect for the morning rush hour:

? 4 and 5 Customers traveling from the Bronx and headed to destinations near Grand Central are advised to, if possible transfer at 59th/Lexington or a downtown 6 to 51st Street or 33rd Street.

? 4 and 5 Customers traveling from Brooklyn are advised to transfer to an Uptown 6 train at 14th Street/Union Sq to 33rd Street.
