There was the museum line in Washington, like the Toppenish, Simcoe and Western, ran between
Top and White Swan. That's like 21 miles or some such and for a long time they hauled 5 cars of
road oil per year (pre Indian sawmill) to Simcoe. Yet, with the 5 cars, an 80 ton centercab and
volunteers they managed to have a weed free railroad, decent Class 2 track, and operating signals
without any outside help. Shows what good government intervention can do (or undo).
