Back in April, the City of Richland/Port of Benton/BNSF and UP finalized plans for a roadway expansion over the interchange track that TCRY was opposed since it was proposed back in the early 2000s (2004?). As quoted from the article "An agreement with Tri-City Railroad is not a necessary step..."

Also as noted in the article, the City of Richland was using their section of industrial track as a bargaining chip, but I have heard that now the TCRY is not allowed on that section of track, which leads to their own grain-elevator that they partnered with the UP for unit train unloading.

BNSF still operates 5-times a week, although their carloads have diminished.
TCRy still forwards the cars for UP, mostly refers.
