I saw the "computer" that controlled the gun at the Naval weapons Station in Louisville in the '80s (where the guns were maintained during their Navy life) and it was a "clockwork orange" like device, the most dcomplicated mechanical computing device I ever experienced). They replaced those mechanical devices with handheld computers on the newer Navy gun platforms. Next up are electical rail lauchers. My, oh my.
