One of these 16" gun barrels was shipped on SP from Utah to a scrap company in the LA area. You could see the rifling inside the barrel. It was cut up into segments in more than one gondola IIRC. It was very poorly braced and came loose and started rolling around in the gondola in which it was shipped causing it and train to derail. Sometime in the late eighties give or take. Derailed while on UP between Bartolo and Los Nietos around Peck Road and Workman Mill Road.
