JOINT STATEMENT OF SYMPATHY

A terrible accident involving the California Zephyr happened Friday, June 22nd in the Nevada desert. Many passengers and crew members were killed or injured as a truck struck the westbound train at a grade crossing.

The California Rail Foundation, the Train Riders Association of California, The Transit Coalition and the Rail Passenger Association of California and Nevada members and all our associates in the rail advocacy community offer our condolences, prayers and best wishes to the injured survivors, their families and the families of the deceased. No words can describe your feelings, just know that we are thinking of you and are deeply sympathetic.

The California Rail Foundation, TRAC, The Transit Coalition and the Rail Passenger Association of California and Nevada members will continue to work for better and safer passenger rail options for California, Nevada and the west coast.
