That Sandpoint newspaper headline really compressed geography. Had the train derailed somewhere between Moyie Springs and the Canadian border as the story points out, it would have been one heck of a tumble south, up and over river canyons and a couple of large hills, before reaching Lake Pend Oreille some 30+ miles away.
