Is this caboose still legal to occupy, with operational radio, marker lights, & water cooler ??? Or is it simply a shoving platform ??? A look at the end doors will tell you; if they're welded shut it cannot be occupied.
Up here in the Great Grey Northwest, BNSF has converted several cabeese into shoving platforms. The work involved is as simple as welding the doors shut & stenciling " Shoving Platform only -- Do Not Occupy ", on the sides. Other cabeese have had all windows covered with sheet metal; some are repainted while others have rusting patches & really look like $#!t.
