I saw three locomotives headed east through the Sierra yesterday with M&ET paint. Two were within a mile or so f each other, the third was perhaps 20 miles behind. They certainly picked a high crossing of the Sierra -- Carson Pass is 8650 ft!

Any idea as to their destination?
