Typical anti rail/anti transit bias. Taxpayers have to pay for highways long after the initial expenditures such as maintenance, policing, snow removal, medicaid for injuries associated with automobile accidents and indirect expenses such as increased burden on urban taxpayers when a large swath of homes and businesses is cleared for a highway.
