Broe bought the Great Western as the sugar company was closing as a real estate investment. Wish there were a fe more railroad types versus investment types in the shortline biz.

Beard family owns the Modesto & Empire Traction (and much of the adjoining commercial land). Not sure if they have anything to do with the ST&E.
