Nice write-up and photos. Looks like you did your homework well and got rewarded for your time. Thanks for the update.
That Simpson 80-3 class Shay is the same model as Pickering's 7 at Jamestown, CA and the Mt. Emily 1 in Prineville, OR. Simpson also had a 75-3 class Willamette, a Baldwin 2-6-6-2T and some rod engines.
