Somehow, I fail to understand the ongoing criticism of Lucius Beebe's work. When I first got interested in rail photography, it was prompted by Beebe's earlier works such as "High Iron", "High Ball" and "Age of Steam". I latter ended with most of Beebe's books, some autographed, including "Rio Grande, Mainline of the Rockies" and "Great Railroad Photographs, USA" in limited editions.

Whether or not you like Beebe's work, were it not for him, railroad books of photography may have never become what they are today. The fact that I like the 3/4 or "wedgie" is a personal preference to preserve a scene as I saw it. Not crushed in a telephoto or a back lit shot with some ugly ass horse in it.

Sorry guys, but trying to insult me by comparison to the late Mr. Beebe is pissing into the wind.
