The "us versus them" mentality between the UTU and the BLE has prevailed ever since the UTU was formed in 1969. It's not likely to change anytime soon. It's been said that we could've merged the two unions years ago - and thus present a united front - were it not for the two Internationals getting in the way.

I thought AC Transit was ATU not UTU. Has that changed?

In any event, UTU does indeed have a bus department. I've never had any dealings with it, but the rail department has a history of being more, shall we say "cooperative" with management than other unions.
