On Sept. 14, the Wallowa Union board picked a proposal from Standard (Court Hammond) out of two proposals to pursue. The board will be negotiating with him to operate passenger and freight service and maintain the line. Negotiations start in October and steam service may be in operation next spring if negotiations are fruitful.
