In response to ‘Billy Goat’s’ self-serving and distorted post regarding the Skykomish Hotel:
The ‘Goat’ fails to articulate his own personal, deliberate and substantial role in the destruction of this wonderful historic icon during his recent participation with the Town’s Design Review Board.
The ‘Goat’, along with a few friends, voted to prevent the Hotel’s elevation from being raised out of ‘flood zone’. This was a major contributor in preventing the Hotel from reopening.
The ‘Goat’ also conveniently left out the part about how the Design Review Board voted to allow BNSF Railway owned structures, as well as the Mayor’s home to have their elevations increased.
The 107 year old Sky Hotel did not get to its present condition through neglect, but rather through a very calculated effort on the part of Sky luminaries like the ‘Goat’ to ‘acquire’ it without paying for it.
The ‘Goat’s’ reference to the Hotel’s ‘appraised’ value of $165,500 is further testimony of his calculating effort to mislead others and draw attention away from himself. The ‘appraised’ value he states is the actually the ‘assessed’ value. For those who understand real estate, there is a huge difference between the two.
