News to Me - Progress Rail (CAT) and EMD

Maybe I don't get out much, but I just found out while looking at the Wikipedia page for EMD, that EMD is now under the Progress Rail umbrella, which is in turn, a wholly owned subsidiary of Caterpillar. Sort of the tail wagging the dog. I guess Greenbriar and Mr. Buffet were not that interested in building locomotives. I always thought that it was a bit unreal that EMD was, at least financially, based in Lake Oswego, Oregon, not a place that I associate with reality.
