Go back and read all the messages regarding the NWP from the last 6+ years on this forum and others. There was an overwhelming number of people who were practically ready to bet their life savings on the NWP never reopening. Pigs would fly, pipe dream, etc. Anyone posting info about track work or operator contracts beings signed was immediately lambasted as a fool or worse.

A lot of people here seem to think '0' and '4' are the same number. If I had a nickel for every time someone posted the words "no customers," I could pay back the public money spent to reopen the line that everyone is so upset about. Now that the railroad is running regular freights, the naysayers are going to focus extra hard on the fact that public money was used to re-open the line. Yet somehow, no one seems to be upset about the billion dollars being wasted to ruin U.S. 101 between Novato and Santa Rosa.
