Heh... you'd be surprised just how many shortline (and even some museum) operations have or have had engine and shop areas that look like scrapyards; that wasn't unusual even during the steam era (of course, what looked like scrap was probably spare parts; after all, not all railroads - especially shortlines and logging operations - kept their yard areas neat and clean).
