That was a Shay that you rode on, a Pacific Coast type. Interesting irony here, this one is the former Klickitat (J. Neils) number 7 and should be moving to Willits within the next year. There were weight differences among this model and the 7 was one of the lightest constructed with a reported weight of 162,000 lbs.
As a comparison, Pickering's 11, also a PC, weighed in at 193,300 lbs. I got this from a Pickering document that was given to me years ago. Part of this additional weight came from the oversize oil capacity that she had.
