I early November I posted picture of the first gate-protected grade crossing east of Freeway 215 on this branch. The flashers and the bgates were removed. A permanent red flag just west of there was also posted. The flag is still there but the grade crossing has been redone with new gates, flashers, and crossbucks (Picture 1 below). On top of the four crossbucks, gates, and flasher poles are the device shown in Picture 2. I speculate they make bell sounds and horn sounds to control the noise to the crossing area.
I further speculate that money was available to redo that whole complex intersection: new traffic lights and control, turn bays, etc. So the upgrade for future Metrolink to Hemet was also done.
