UP is the common carrier and there has been at least one pickup at Americold and one delivery to Big Creek Lumber by them. I checked with Big Creek and they do not have any orders coming in by rail currently. I talked with someone in Watsonville and learned Americold lost a major contract this past fall and replacement business may not be found. I question if anyone can make their nut switching on the branch line now.

I was down in Santa Cruz this past Monday and saw Sierra Northern was still shown as the common carrier on the signal-crossing box.

Today when I was down in Seascape I see UP has updated the signs with their 800 number.
