At Bayshore Tower there was a lead coming out of the yard to the eastbound main followed by a crossover to the westbound. The eastbound main was protected by an interlocking signal on the lead. If the towerman wanted to run a cut against the current of traffic with the crossover in normal position the signal wouldn't clear. He would then authorize the move with a proceed signal with a hand lantern with a yellow bulb.
