> In my part of California crime has steadily gone DOWN over the past 20 years

Where was that?

In Richmond, where nobody even bothers to report most crimes,
or perhaps in parts of Oakland or San Francisco, where the police don't even dare go.

Or perhaps in the outer areas of Contra Costa County, where the cunty DA refuses to prosecute anything until we pass more taxes to pay his office more.

Or where you'll play hell getting the police to even take the report (why should they bother - the perp will not be prosecuted anyway)

Or was it the town where I was told by an on duty police leutenant, to not bother to call the police; but to just wait until the perp was fully in your house, then blow him off.

And then still don't bother calling them - just dump the body in the riverbank - they'll figure out what happened easy enough - case closed!

Then again - as long as the conductor never gets off the train, he won't get hurt - right?
The headlines will then read "CALIFORNIA CRIME PROBLEM SOLVED", right?

That is until that next rock has a conductor's name on it; or a track switch is tampered with, which happens frequently in the Eastbay

But then what is a conductor to do when he is thrown from the train after it is forcibly stopped.

Or when ruthless youth gangs board a stopped train, hell-bent on ritual mayhem on the passengers.

So Dont even bother to get off the train - we'll beat you to a pulp right there - on board - just for your convenience!

By the way - that area of our defunct state's Capitol, where that gang roams, is now literally deserted by dusk, except for the passenger trains that must pass through, hopefully without stopping.

I had a warehouse there once - I was burgled and robbed blind, until I was out of business - and my employees all beat nearly to death, more then once. The locals now know better than to go there at all, day or night, if it can be avoided. That's today, right this minute. The only reason crime is technically down in that area, is that there is no one left to rob.

But then some myopic ostrich thinks that crime has gone down in California. Gentleman - I present your next crime statistic; except that no one is bothering to count anymore!

And good riddance you say to those who leave. Your good riddance is heard, even as better times are in fact being found - elsewhere! Almost any elsewhere!

So yes, my business location in Downtown Oakland (as I previously mentioned would happen) has now been closed down - no thanks to that sorry excuse of a major. Me and most of my 81 emloyees are now gone, never to spend another freekin dime in that godforsaken place.

We have moved to another state to do our mail order business. So we will pay no more Caliphony taxes either. Oh - and by the way, as we leave, we are taking our wealth (what we still have) with us, beyond the reach of those ravenous thieves you elected.

So go suck on that, as more and more businesses, and more and more wealth leaves. You won'r be sucking off my teat anymore. Sooner or later, the myopic will starve, as they yell good riddance to the last of the waelth to leave.

Hmmm! starve the myopic - what better darwin trophy could be awarded!
