The Roseville Explosion was covered in a recent issue of SP Trainline, the magazine of the Southern Pacific Historical & Technical Society. Really sad to read where the Fire Dept. refused to go on site to extinguish the fires until all the bombs were located and defused, and the Army Bomb Disposal unit refused to go on site until the fires were extinguished !!! Sooo, Espee asked for volunteers who ran a train of Donner Pass fire water cars into the yard to fight the fires. Turns out the Espee guys were the real first responders that day !!!
