I sort of doubt the SP adopted a standard color for asphalt shingles placed over the original wood shingles of its depots.

On the Tehachapi depot (the one built in 1904, not the current replica), the SP reroofed the depot with green ashpalt shingles. On the other hand, for the Pleasonton depot, it appears that it was reroofed with gray asphalt shingles.

Regarding Graham Buxton's link to the Niles Depot website, that website may only be good for getting the green roof color right. When it comes to Colonial Yellow and the brown trim, the website's recommendations are WRONG. Their shade of Colonial Yellow is too light and for the brown trim, the SP never used a color called "Samoa Brown." The SP officially called its trim color "Light Brown" and is much lighter than the purported "Samoa Brown" color.

By the way, no true fan of SP depot colors would call Colonial Yellow "dirty brown."
