Don't know about today, tomorrow or Monday, but the protestors on Friday were some 2,000 nurses advocating for changes in the US health care system. They negotiated their parade route and activities ahead of time with the City, and were fully approved to do what they did. They closed streets for a bit as they marched, but were otherwise respectful, and had a good relationship with the police. I think one dude was arrested for climbing on a draw bridge to tear down a NATO sign. Even a local conservative radio host kinda had to admit that the nurses had valid concerns and were articulate in expressing their position.
But, yeah, things are closed, windows are reportedly boarded up, in-city residents have been warned to get out of town for the weekend, jails have been reopened, the southern Wisconsin Red Cross supposedly has prepared emergency shelters, all just in case things get out of hand this weekend.
