I dissolved the LLC in December 2011 and reverted back to sole proprietor status because I have no plans to publish new timetables.

The State of California charges $800 for the privilege of having an LLC whether you earn a dime of revenue or not. I grew tired of paying the $800 and filing the additional tax returns and other paperwork required by the State, so I shut it down.

I don't expect Altamont Press (as a sole proprietorship) to remain open much longer, but it's hard to say for sure. Sales over the past six months have deteriorated to the point of being nearly unsustainable. One of my distributors said the past winter was the worst he'd ever seen after thirty years selling to hobby/train stores. It's not just Altamont stuff, he says the sales for everything have plummeted.
