I agree, what coal dust! This was a problem during the first few miles of transit so at least BNSF issued a order in October 2011 requiring Powder River Basin coal loaders to apply a binder to the top of loads to eliminate 85% or more of the dust. Now where is that information in the battle lines forming to stop coal trains?
The Friends of the Columbia River Gorge lost my contributing membership over their continued use of the coal dust argument against the trains. My shot at trying to get facts into the discussion. Arlen
