My Favorite Observation Car

Last month there was a thread with something like this name. Having ridden the Rio Grande Scenic (Alamosa, CO based) about three weeks ago, I want to add my contribution. She's the "Mardi Gras" -- ex-Illinois Central and owned by the Roanoke Chapter of the NRHS for awhile. She is surprisingly intact.

Rio Grande Scenic runs various excursion trains on different days of the week. The day I rode her, she summed up the Alamose/LaVita round trip. Enjoy.
