The Yreka Western was one of my favorite railroads. It was always fun to break away from the yellow peril around Dunsmuir and head up to Yreka. Case in point is Alco MRS-1 #244 hauling a CP boxcar that makes her look like an N scale locomotive on an HO layout. Well all has changed now and the #244 is now a pile of scrap and the rest of the railroad may soon join her in that happy scrap yard in the sky. I don't know what the fate of this little railroad may be but I know I will never see a scene like this again.
