A Friday Trip to Oakdale

Last Friday, June 29,2012, we manaaged to catch some freight operations on the Sierra Northern (aka Sierra Railroad) out of Oakdale with GP20 #48

On the way to Riverbank from Oakdale with a cut of cars for the BNSF. Please note the authentic horse in the background and a sign of the times in the foreground.

Ready to leave Oakdale and head East to Chinese.

Along Sierra Rd. During the halcyon days of Sierra steam excursions in the 1970's, this spot and the road would be jammed with motorcaders. The other side of the road was all orchard back then.
