Another advantage of Redding...When it a 115 in the valley, you can escape to the mountains and catch some action on the old WP Highline. An all day loop will take you up Highway 44 to Bogart Flat and then you can follow the Pittville highway (a dirt road) back through Halls Flat and eventually to Fall River Mills, then back to Redding on 299. Take a good map and be ready for a rough but passable road. There are several places you can access the Highline.

Have fun, Redding is a great town.
