This morning I saw an article from Eugene paper, saying the City Counsel has been talking about the potential coal train 'problem'. They have postponed further discussion until a later date, but some of the members appear to be opposed to the trains through town. There is an anti-industry force in this town, more powerful than a few sign-waving protesters standing between the rails. The County government is broke, but still certain industries are being held out front as being harmful, no matter what benefits they bring to the tax base and working people's lives.
