I was just by there yesterday (just to be clear, you are talking about Shelton, WA right?). They are running two to three trains each day (M-F). Lots of activity in town at the mill and two runs out to the Drysort a day (sometimes a double header).

If you check in at the office, you may be able to get a cab ride (with a signed waiver, bring donuts). There are a couple locations around the mill you can get some good shots, especially if you have a long lens. Also there's a spot on the hill above at view turnout, that will provide a nice look at the operations.

Chasing the trains to the Drysort is pretty easy. Most of the logging roads that look like routes to good photo ops, are gated. Paved roads are the ones that will get you to grade crossings.

Good luck!
