From casual observation it appears the vast bulk of ST&E traffic is transloading to trucks at East Stockton. There is both a cement transload and a chemical transload with many cars continuously spotted and being offloaded to trucks. Although still many packing sheds in the area, it dosen't appear much is going out in carloads by rail. There has been no activity east of the Fairchild industrial park (Baldwin Lane) in many years ( I guess since 1989) and even Fairchild does not appear to have an active rail shipper anymore. What I never understood was why the ST&E never formally abandoned the inactive trackage, both the Linden line and the track along the canal to the stub of the old Espee Oakdale branch - neither of which has seen a movement in many years.
