Don't get me started on the Bob's Big Boy memories. The standard road trip from home in Sacramanto in the early 80s was to run 5 hours to Bakersfield in the early AM, work Tehachapi all day, then head to Palmdale for a cheap motel and Bob's before heading out to Cajon early the next morning. The Big Boy burger was the perfect end to the day. My son still has the little plastic "Bobby" that I got for him one trip when he was 2. I see the things in antique stores now.
