It is possible to have the Starlight and Builder side by side between Portland and the Vancouver Amtrak Depot if there is no opposing BNSF/UP traffic in the way...I've seen it done countless times before. However, yesterday (when these photos were taken) Amtrak 14 got ahead of the Builder and switched tracks (so 14 and the Builder were on the same track, Main 2) at North Portland Junction which is located a mile (+/-) before the Columbia River Draw Bridge.
