I suspect we will hear something back bloking the EIS/EIR from the judge sometime shortly after November 6?

The State made a "decision" to go forward with a "commitment" from Coalinga to Oildale, and the Federal "approval" of the small segment last week from Fresno to Coalinga. Don't be fooled, that was all just a big bureaucratic dance, which allowed everybody to go ahead with "programming" the potentially lapsing HSIPR ARRA funds, so they wouldn't evaporate and couldn't be reprogrammed later.

I am still betting this lousy EIR/EIS, based on faulty planning and analsysis, will be blocked, and then the mad scramble by the State will be to "reprogram" these "use it or lose it" funds to over two billion dollars worth of actual "shovel ready" projects identified in the HSR/Local Agency MOU's.

Some folks will not like this. That's tough. It is not an ideal political world; it's actually a kind of nasty and messy political world; and, if you expect to get anything real done anytime soon to make it a better world, then it's better to act on what you can, because hell isn't likely going to freeze over anytime soon, while we wait to find political perfection.....
