Who do you think appoints those judges?
And do you think for one minute that such politically biased judges (most judges are, like anyone else) won't do all they can to avoid embarrassment to those that appointed them; or would not avoid anything which could awaken sleeping dogs, that might bite just before an election.
Perhaps Pollyanna will grow up to realize the value to any political dogma (and dogmatic judges), of waiting until the electorate (and the media) will have had plenty of time to forget about controversial stuff before the next election.
You must not have noticed, that elected politicians routinely do the same - making the effective date of controversial new LAW, to be after the next election (in 2013 for instance). Think of the so-called Bush Tax Cuts, set to expire after the election; or the expired A.M.T. tax fixes (won't be noticed until in 2013); or the so-called "Affordable Health Care Act", which contains more unrelated tax increases and miscellaneous new unrelated laws, than it does health care improvements; not to mention 16 entirely new taxes, some of which are severe. Yep - taxes on all of us are set to explode in 2013, after the election.
Had we been paying those taxes already, could we have forgotten by now - in just two short years? Probably not until we had gotten used to it (financially numbed). But even just the specter of those new payroll taxes killed any chance of recovery, along with the resultant increased Federal revenues. That specter also killed many of the jobs we already had. Indeed, a specter they myopically did not anticipate.
Or Shuuuush - did they cleverly anticipate it all along, as Karl Marx several times proposed a century before in his writings. Is that even possible that a modern politician constantly spouting similar dogma, would even think as Marx did, to trash the economy before offering his own radical solutions? Maybe not - but just the mere appearance of such, is another haunting specter to kill any recovery
Whoops - where is that tin hat!
It's all there in Marx's writing to read for yourself - but do put on that tinfoil hat as a shield first, to avoid any chance of absorbing reality. We wouldn't want to upset our own long held dogma.
But I digress...
