On the Trace of the Central Pacific in Nevada

West of Winnemucca, City of Paved Streets, UP #844 passes thru two reminders of the old Central (and later Southern)Pacific. First, passing the water stop of Cosgrave and the stone masonry remains of its water tower and, further West, the trees marking the site of the community of Humboldt. Also of note, until the reign of the late SP President Ed Moyers, both pieces of railroad were double track.
