EMD has never previously been known to announce the movements of its demonstrators to the railfan community, or to anybody except those directly involved. So unless it had somehow attracted national attention previously, who would have been watching for it anyway.

Could it have arrived in Lost Wages by rail, in an otherwise ordinary consist, moved to the nearest side track; then "low-boyed" to the convention center from there. By then it could have only attracted local attention, if even that.
