The Final Journey---The Black Hills Central 10-9-12

Over forty-eight years ago, April of 1964, I encountered and photographed this locomotive still in regular service on the Peninsula Terminal Railroad in Portland, Oregon. I never saw it again until today, October 9, 2012. Now Black Hills Central #104, the 2-6-2T was on its normal rum from Hill City, SD to Keystone, SD on a gloomy, very cold day.

Leaving Hill City
