I was wasting my life away in typical railfan manner, sitting at a public park watching the UPRR mainline just a couple of 100 feet away.
A routine general merchandise freight rolled by, west bound; I happened to spot a rusty old box car logo'd "LEF&C" in the consist.
GOGGLE'd it...
comes back as the Lake Erie Franklin & Clarion RR, a Pennsylvania based short-line that was abandoned on 1/5/93.
It would be interesting to know how this car is still in service. I would guess that someone bought the car at a bankruptcy fire sale, and changed the reporting marks.
In any event, if you are into history, keep your eyes open.
