Port of Long Beach "Express"

With so much possible to do today including an all you can eat brunch and sailing, I chose to drink coffee and organize old model trains and then zip over to the Port of Long Beach for their Port Train Tour. Even though I had no ticket, space was available and I boarded the train. Afterwards, I chased them for a few miles. Here is what I got from them leaving the port.

In the first shot, they are just getting under way to leave the Pier G area at the Port of Long Beach Administration Building about 4 PM.

Next, a grab shot along Pico Avenue.

The tracks pass through Pier B yard along Pier B Street. Edison Street used to cross the tracks at grade about here.

The train is about to pass under Anaheim Street and head towards CP Long Beach and the Alameda Corridor.

I used the turbo to get to Anaheim Street and get to a vantage point to look up the beginning of the Alameda Corridor. PHL 21 was just pulling some autoracks into view.

The exhaust of PHL somewhat obscures the Metrolink train as it heads into the tangent section.

Did anyone else ride this train or observe it on its way to or from the port?
