While I agree that some of the errors in various DeLorme Atlas maps are laughable, ( Milwaukee Road and Northern Pacific in 2008 ??? ) other errors are a pain. I spent half a day trying to find where Cabin Creek Rd. crossed the Yakima River near Stampede Pass, only to discover later from Mary Pittis of Iron Horse Inn B & B that the bridge had been washed out for many years. I also found that many of the Forest Service roads around Stampede Pass have been bulldozed back to a natural terrain, now that the logging activity is finished.
As a friend has said, the problem with DeLorme Atlas is that every goat path shows up as a " road ". On the other hand, a DeLorme Atlas is good for track - cracking, as they continue to show intact trackage that has been long - removed.
I wonder if DeLorme will accept corrections and comp a new mapbook as thanks ??? Thomas Bros. Maps ( remember them ) used to do this.
