The chips leaving by rail from Grants Pass went to Weyerhaeuser and Longview Fibre in Longview, Wa. They did make hardwood chips for GP Toledo, but they went by truck as the GP facility had no way to transport the hardwood chips to the correct pile from the rail dump in Toledo. The rail dump is solely for conifer.
What I don't understand is how can rail rates to Longview be higher from Roseburg than Grants Pass. One would think it would either be the same or cheaper.
