OPR has sold its GP7u 1810 (of Under Siege II fame) along with the only remaining ex-SP switcher slug SP 1010 to Archer Daniels Midland (ADMX) for use at a grain elevator in southwest Kansas.

The slug will be mated to the 1810 and is being equipped with the ZTR "BOA" = (Bolt On Adhesion)computerized excitation/traction control system at the OPR shop in Milwaukie prior to shipment to Kansas in early January 2008.

Both units will be painted into ADM's gray/black/blue color scheme and retain their original numbers as ADMX 1810 and ADMX 1010.

Painting on OPR's newest unit, ex-CRANDIC SW-900 #91 (now OPR 901) is nearly complete and will go into service on the Molalla Branch soon in preparation for the opening of American Steel's new facility in the Canby Industrial Park in early summer 2008.

You are welcome to come and photograph the 1810 and 1010 in their "old" paint scheme as well as the 901 which will be around the shop area for another month or so until it leaves for Canby
SW 1200RS OPR 1202 along with the rest of my collection is also in the Milwaukie yard; the NW-5 ex-GN 187 was vandalized by copper thieves several weeks ago and is behind a fence in our "compound" at Golf Junction (S.E. 13th and Ochoco in the Sellwood neighborhood) for safekeeping.

As a thought, why not come out, take your photos, and ride the "HOLIDAY EXPRESS III" and help support ORHF's efforts to build a home for the three steam locomotives!!
