I'll give a try at answering your questions.

There are 3 swing bridges on the line. I'm assuming you're referring
to the one at Clatskanie, and the last I heard Wauna still uses the
railroad. There was a washout a few miles east of Astoria several years
ago that cut the line. I'm not sure if it was ever repaired. The last
loads out of Astoria would have been by the BN. I followed the local
out to Astoria in October of 1994 and I think it was done within a
couple of years of that. IIRC, there was another pretty good slide in
1996. That may have been the last year of any revenue freight to
Astoria. Hope this helps.
